Protecting Data, Reducing Risk for Medical Device Company
Experis developed Governance policies across six Enterprise Operating units and remediated thousands of unstructured data points across SharePoint, OneDrive, NFS, and external media.

Business Challenge
A large global medical device and pharmaceutical company was looking for solutions to protect data and reduce medical device business risk. The client needed to work with various asset owners to identify, certify and remediate assets that lacked data controls, but lacked the in-house expertise to complete these tasks.
Solution
Experis leveraged our extensive experience in managing complex technical projects, establishing governance and controls to secure medical device data, providing program oversight and leadership, enhancing program communication, providing business unit remediation oversight, and delivering implementation accountability for the medical device program. Our team conducted gap assessments of current controls, developed a controls roadmap and governance plan. Additionally, the team worked with the stakeholders and cybersecurity to create a process to scan and identify network file shares globally.
Results
The following activities drove positive outcomes to our client:
- Completed assessment and remediation of unstructured data across six enterprise operating units. Remediation was prioritized for sensitive data on network file shares and SharePoint sites
- Continued partnership with the internal cyber team on strategies to migrate file shares to secure data locations
- Developed a data loss protection (DLP) exception request approval process that has been implemented globally
