Job Title

Our client, a global leader in design, manufacturing, and supply chain solutions, is seeking a Lead RDL Network Architect to join their team. As a Lead RDL Network Architect, you will be part of the IT Support team supporting the Hardware Platform Solutions (HPS) group. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on secure, air-gapped network architecture, the ability to govern strict isolation constraints, and the drive to enable engineering teams to rapidly stand up new RDL network instances while maintaining uncompromising security.

Job Title:Lead RDL Network Architect

Location:North York, ON (Hybrid in GTA; remote for strong profiles outside the GTA)

Pay Range:$100

What's the Job?

  • Own and deploy the global Research & Development Lab (RDL) reference architecture across all current and future HPS design centers, ensuring consistent network design and governance.
  • Architect and enable new RDL network instantiations by allocating subnets, configuring dedicated VLANs, establishing local jump hosts, and defining secure user authentication parameters.
  • Design, configure, and maintain a completely isolated, air-gapped network environment that operates independently of standard corporate IT networks with zero direct or indirect public internet connectivity.
  • Build and manage secure connectivity and segmentation, including private full-mesh SD-WAN overlays, strict firewalling (Checkpoint 3980), and multi-tenant VLAN environments separating Export Controlled and Non-Export Controlled zones.
  • Lead secure data package management across the air gap by maintaining a multi-tier repository system (internet-facing ingestion, global relay, and local RDL repositories) with integrity-validated transfer workflows.

What's Needed?

  • 8+ years of network architecture experience with a heavy emphasis on securing air-gapped or highly isolated enterprise environments.
  • Expert hands-on experience with Checkpoint firewalls (Checkpoint 3980 preferred), Cisco Catalyst 9400/9200 switching, and SilverPeak SD-WAN solutions.
  • Deep expertise in security and identity tooling, including CyberArk vPAM (PVWM/vPAM) and Zscaler ZTNA with Zscaler App Connectors.
  • Strong Linux administration skills for jump host configuration and secure local HTTP/HTTPS repository hosting (e.g., Nginx/Apache) across Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, or CentOS.
  • Proven ability to produce flawless High-Level Designs (HLD) and Low-Level Designs (LLD), including block diagrams and SOPs, while coordinating with cross-functional engineering, IT security, and customers.

What's in it for me?

  • Lead the architecture and scaling of a mission-critical, globally distributed RDL network reference model.
  • Work on high-impact security engineering where strict isolation constraints are non-negotiable and your expertise directly protects sensitive environments.
  • Enable engineering teams to move faster by standardizing repeatable network instantiation patterns and secure operating procedures.
  • Collaborate across HPS design engineering, project management, corporate IT security, and external customers to deliver reliable outcomes.
  • Build and govern a robust, multi-tier repository and air-gap transfer approach that supports secure software and package distribution.
